Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, case number, or other term entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so that we can respond. It is kept within our organization and is not disclosed outside it unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers may receive routine technical information as each page loads:
- The visitor's device IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- A referring site, when one is supplied
- The date and time of each request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Browser controls can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how parts of the website operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate the website and maintain page performance
- Route a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Find and correct technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Ouray County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes reference material about the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search and the Ouray Combined Court Clerk, which maintains District Court and County Court files in the county seat of Ouray. Information collected about visitors is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Official court-record access is separate from this privacy policy. Colorado Chief Justice Directive 05-01 governs access to court case records. The Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act, including C.R.S. ยงยง24-72-304 and 24-72-305, applies to criminal justice records. The Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) concerns county administrative writings and is not the request process for a Judicial Branch case file.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies provide search boxes appearing on some pages. Information submitted through those tools is governed by each provider's own privacy policy rather than this policy. Providers choose their retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Ouray Combined Court, the Colorado Court of Appeals, statewide case-search resources, legal-aid organizations, or commercial tools. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure use and performance
- Search providers that process a visitor's query
- Advertising networks serving content on the website
- Government bodies or law enforcement when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet-connected service can promise complete security. We work to protect collected data but cannot guarantee that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights over personal data can vary with the law that applies where a visitor lives. A request may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information where applicable
- Stop certain processing when an opt-out right applies
These visitor-data choices do not amend, seal, or remove an Ouray County court record. Access or correction of a Judicial Branch case record follows CJD 05-01 and the Ouray Combined Court Clerk's process. The Colorado Court of Appeals follows its own official record procedures.
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new effective date will appear here when an updated version is posted, and continued use after publication is subject to the revised policy.
